Yes, I also offer telehealth, which is often as effective as in-person visits.
What is therapy?

Therapy is meeting with a trained professional to get support when you’re going through a rough time.

You can learn skills, relieve symptoms, enhance daily functioning, and improve your quality of life.

What is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)?
CBT is a talk therapy that teaches coping skills for dealing with different problems. It focuses on how your thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes affect your feelings and actions.
How can I benefit from therapy?
Depending on how well you use the process, there are many benefits. It can help you understand and change your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
What clients do you work with?
I work with teens, adults, couples, males, and females.
Does my insurance cover therapy?
Check with your insurance carrier to be sure.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel less than 48 hours before your appointment, you will be charged a fee agreed on in the cancellation policy.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes.
How long is a session?
Sessions are 45-55 minutes.
What are your office hours?
Our hours are 10 AM to 7 PM.
How often should I attend sessions?
We can agree on the length of time your therapy should last.
What should I expect during the first session?
The first session is a time for us to get to know each other. I may also spend time learning what brought you to therapy.
Where did you attend college?
I went to Prairie View A&M University.
What are your credentials?
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S). I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in counseling.
Where have you worked?

I have worked at the Child Protective Service, a juvenile correctional facility, an adult state prison, a county jail, and an alternative school.

I have been in private practice for 17 years, 15 of which were in a group practice.

How long have you been a therapist?
I’ve been a therapist for about 27 years.
What areas are you trained in?
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Grief Recovery, Anger Management, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI-Caregiver Training), Critical Stress Debriefing, and Active Parenting.
Do you have grown children?
Yes.

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to music, traveling, and exercising.
Is it okay to cry in sessions?
Yes, it is okay to cry in sessions. Neither you nor the therapist should avoid crying in therapy.
Is it okay to laugh in sessions?
Yes, it is okay for you and your therapist to laugh when appropriate. When humor is used in a healthy way, it helps with bonding and healing.
